Michael and Fayelle Anderson have been creating eating opportunities together for decades.

After living in California and developing a taste for Southwestern food, they moved back to Bar Harbor, Maine. With no tortillas or chilies in sight, they opened the locally ever popular Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant. 

Michael's career brought him next to direct the College of the Atlantic Food Service,  earning it the “Best College Food” in the USA award by the Princeton Review and a write up in Gourmet  Magazine.

Michael is the food whisperer.

 Michael’s love and curiosity about food, combined with inspiration from his travels with Fayelle, and childhood summers living in Italy, contribute to August Moon’s unique, one-of-a-kind cuisine creations.

For Michael, cooking is a calm meditation, an expression of love. He does not work from recipes, and does not understand the phenomenon of the celebrity chef. Cooking is about the food, not about him.

“I work from a quiet mind,” Michael says. “I let the food talk.”

Michael and Fayelle also cater functions for the Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor, which range from large conferences to VIP luncheons. Michael’s food is star, but it is Fayelle’s precision and detail-driven approach that keeps everything running smoothly. Together their years of experience assure your event will dazzle guests and go off without a hitch, whether it is a casual shoreside dinner for family, or a formal wedding for 300.
